Hi, I am new around here and planing to go DIY for my drum machine ( can't wait actually ), I love DIY cause it gives me opportunity to learn something new, and the DIY people are very open and creative like the projects it self. I see it (DIY) as a part of what i believe is a way to better society for all of us, were people have more of all kinds of freedoms and opportunities in there lives, and where people clever enough to create values, are also (even more) clever to share it unselfishly ( there values) whit others .
That said, I have a question for Julian: how far is this metal case from the shop ? should i wait a little bit, or just buy whats on offer right now. And how much will it be, this Erica Synths version metal case ? Thanks Julian for making this possible, and big thanks to community for supporting such efforts
I will make up my mind about the final price this weekend. I have my tracking number now for the first batch of cases :-D *yay* price will be around 100,-€ incl. VAT I have to do some math, since I bought some additional small parts to go with girts cases (lighpipes etc) and have to see how to pack and ship them.
Okay, here's the deal regarding Girts metal enclosures.
I should have them ready next week. They are already on their way and I can see them in the tracking system
The first batch I get is rather small. I'll get 39 cases now, then 11 more in about a week. The next batch after that will probably be available in about 1 month.
Since the initial supply is rather limited I will first offer them only here in the forum and only put them in the shop if there are any units left.
So if you like one of girts enclosures (photos in my flickr stream https://www.flickr.com/photos/sonic-potions/) just add yourself to the list below to reserve your seat. I will drop you a mail as soon as the cases are available. Reservations are processed in the order that they appear here on the forum.
price for a case with all needed parts (screws, lighpipes, powerswitch etc) will be 99,-€ (incl. 19% VAT for european customers) + shipping.
Is the silkscreening done on these or is it possible to get some custom screens? also, do these ship with switches, if not, what is the part for a switch that will fit them?
they do come with switches, cables to connect the switch, shrinking tube, light pipes, rubber feet, spacers to mount the trigger PCB and screws. All that is needed.
Girts case comes only with the trigger IO holes in the back.
they all are silkscreened. I have no experience with custom silkscreening, but I expect it to be expensive because you have to manufacture the screen.

a little progress.

the picture is still from a prototype. I haven't laid my hands on one so far, too.
