@MicMicMan 'doldrums' has quite negative associations, in the UK, anyway. We talk about something being 'in the doldrums', meaning it's not doing well, or doing very badly, in fact.
Mind you, I have a box of Spunk (Danish fruit sweets), so some words clearly lose (or gain) something in translation...
it depends how you see it. The whole machine is optimized to do drum synthesis. And my intend was to do a drumsynth. all the bass/synth sounds from the demos were done using the drum engines. It is possible, too, to do all kinds of sounds, but for a real synth track I'd have done some things quite different. (there is no sustain, no dedicated filter EG, no glide or note length...)
Yes I understand, what I meant is that the sounds are not limited to drums as in drum skin on a shell, but can be all kinds of percussion sounds, and beyond...
As it happens, I suggested "Drum Lab" to Julian in a PM on the 14th. :P I sense that he is not convinced by this name though and to be fair - if one were to be critical - "Drum Lab" is appropriately descriptive but doesn't suggest much of an "identity".

he's right. I think it is a nice name, but on the one hand there are quite a few 'soundlab' synths - the boehm soundlab, the MFOS soundlab mini... and on the other hand I think the name is quite generic as well.

Also, something reffering to Chemical_synthesis would be cool
