no mailbox love today in California....   ~X(
  • My parcel status states that it has finally left the East coast via New Jersey today. :))
Of course I'm in France until next Sunday, so it really doesn't matter.
  • After 8 days in NYC, like FreshPants, it has only just minutes ago been processed in New Jersey, a stone throw away.  Wow, USPS, no wonder you're in poor shape.  I will never ship through you given the chance, ever again.
  • I think USPS is hands down the best shipping method domestically. International packages are a differnet game and expectations should not be the same.
  • The issue is with US Customs methinks.
Well, it gives us time to review the build instructions and order some cool chrome button caps. Or something.
  • I'm really hoping us folks in the U.S. don't get slapped with import tariff's. This has happened to me before from getting international shipments via DHL. With these being held up in U.S. customs so long, it is making me nervous. Crossing fingers this won't be the case.

  • I received mine today in NYC! So, you others should start seeing them soon too.

Congrats.  Hopefully Milwaukee isn't too far behind.

Received mine today :)  I guess I'm not sleeping tonight!
    Edit: Seattle
  • :D
Have fun bulding and messin around with that box guys ;)
  • finally! great to hear they are arriving in the states now!
  • My kit arrived yesterday in Milwaukee.
  • The Eagle has landed in Florida!
  • Mine finally cleared customs today!  No motion on DHL tracking, but plugging the DHL number into USPS tracking shows that it's in Jersey City, NJ.   :D
  • A question since I'm not that experienced with international shipping.
Most packages were send for the cheap price as a small package, which seems to be delivered as a normal international registered mail, hence slow.

but nangus package was bigger, hence send as a normal (expensive) DHL package.
And again, DHL gave it to USPS and it is on it's way for some weeks now.
I would have thought the more expensve packages would deliver faster and directly by DHL.

Can anybody tell me what's the best way to deliver overseas that won't take weeks with sketchy tracking to arrive? Or does one have to use the even more expensive express service?
  • I'm not sure the express price would be worth it, but maybe ask DHL Germany if there is a service that DHL America actually delivers.  I think part of the delay was also just the timing.  Canada and the US both had holidays fall right around when they were shipped.
  • From my experience it doesnt matter if you ship by mail or DHL Parcel - most of the time the Package sits in US Customs.  The actual time traveling thru the postal system is nearly neglectable compared to the time it takes making it thru the Prism.....
  • It came to my door via USPS. It took at least three weeks. It required a signature. I think customs might be concerned by unassembled electronics.

I happened to be home recovering broken ribs and clavicle, bicycle accident. The clavicle caused cramps and slowed my build. A collapsed lung landed me in the hospital and so I can't wait to complete this.

In not sure if USPS will notify that they attempted to get a signature. The condition of the box tells me it was at the post office for a while. (My post office created "going postal", Royal Oak).
