Upcoming projects

edited December 2014 in General
I've been quite busy over the last weeks and am happy to announce that some new stuff is coming soon! :-SS

One thing is a colaboration with DinSync (http://www.dinsync.info/) for their new DrumDokta MKII

Where I wrote the sequencer code.

The other thing is an upcoming mystetry product. What could it be? :-?

  • No idea, but it must have something to do with this guy
  • Good news!
No clue either, but the wiki pages on Penrose and Penrose tiling are full of awesome stuff :)
  • The image shows a cauldron spitting out some "organized" ingredients?
  • thats fantanstic news julian! <3 the graphic looks like the opposite of a shredder (and would make an awesome poster over my bed btw.).. after reading through the wiki, does it have something to do with a penroses invention of the spin network? something like a looper or sequencer?

  • and very nice it has been working with you :-)

I know it was about time I signed up here, I have been lurking a bit since building the LXR ;)
  • wooohooooo  :-bd
  • Although I can't map inputs to outputs, the Penrose tiling looks like it could be used for generating patterns (inflating/deflating to make them more complex?) But honestly you can pretty much take anything from the articles and re-word it to sound like a cool musical thing :)

Does it feed itself again with the output?
Looks like the outputs are grouped 2-3-2 but that might just be a visual artifact...

probabilistic note/beat quantizer with the ability to re-disorganise sequences within a set frame of limits? or a wishful thinking machine? :)
  • wishful thinking machine it is :D

Thats great indeed! Is that a sequencer? For eurorack?
I know youre a modular guy, to you plan to work with this format??
  • wow. that's a killer collaboration. i was impressed w/ how solid the LXR timing was from the get-go. looking forward to Penrose.
  • As always beautiful artwork….
  • I like the artwork too, there's a sort of continuity between this characters representing the machine and his function.

Some speculation now, i'm thinking about (certainly cause i hope it since i've got the LXR with the trigger extension) a DIY midi and CV sequencer with sonic capabilities to generate sequences. Or perhaps a sampler or fx box to transform sounds with some magic potions.

I don't know, the only thing that i'm sure about, is that i can't wait to see what it will be, cause i certainly will like it.

  • don't set your expectations too high ;)
It's just a small fun project for now.
The big stuff is coming next year *GG*
  • lets just leave it to that the name penrose and background pattern implies endless fun then :)
  • Does it have anything to do with the "ADC" and "gate" pin header on the LXR that is currently un-used?
  • Exciting!

What about your Mystery Demo on soundcloud?
    https://soundcloud.com/sonic-potions/mysterydemo

    Is it related to Penrose?
It sounds like a kind of pattern generator.

I spend new years day programming lots of chips and hope to reveal everything by the end of the week. Still some stuff to do on the manual and I'm waiting for feedback from the final tester :)
  • Ok... here it is
