  • sorry you meanth the condenser, yes, there's signal at both legs
  • so you have a signal at poin 1?
    image

do you also have a signal at point 2?
also at point 3 with an attached jumper?

then I don't understand why the signal is not present anymore on the frontpanel :-?
  • I'm off to bed now...
I'll be online tomorrow morning and will be leaving around noon for my easter holliday.
I'll be online over the next days, too. Just not as frequently ;)
  • ok thanks, I'll have to check that later, other work to do right now, actually I dont understand I think I just lost the right chan too, all of a sudden...
  • So, the verdict is I don't have signal at any of those 3 points, (I definitely had it yesterday). Also, I don't know if it's expected, but removing all the jumpers the signal is still present on the stereo 2 outputs, no problem there. I confirm that there is now no signal on L1 and R1 outputs...no rush Julian, Happy easter
  • Also, just a tought, we may want to start looking at main boards inputs. Obviously analyzing data is not as straight forward as audio signal, but would you know of a specific path from the atmega that take care of routing/muting? any continuity check that I could perform to the main board input?
  • Also, from visual inspection I see a some chalky white stuff on C26, not sure what a leaking condenser should look like or the effect of that part, but might as well throw it here, just in case.
  • So, sorry for the spamming, I sent info as they come and we can talk when you have more time but I did check the C26 capacity and I don't think there's any problems there. You can't get a precise mesure cause it would need to be taken out of the circuit but comparing to C27, which have the same rôle, they both show about 9 uF and they both show 5 V when powered, so I think that's fine...maybe defective codec? I'm kind of running out of ideas
  • Julian is on holiday until the 27th...i'm sure he will help out when he gets back
  • Any clue Julian?
    Thanks
  • Alright, It works!

First thing when I was debugging I've put the jumpers back the wrong way....shame...
After that I was back to the start, so only L1 not working R1 have always been alright.
Then I don't really know what happens Iwas playing with a wire, to exactly know what was going on, taking the in of C20 to the in of the other compressor, confirming the codec was OK, trying different combinations, when trying the out of C20 to the proper jumper it wasn't working, but I was scratching the output leg with my wire and sound came suddenly...no idea what happened. Hope it stays! I cleaned a bit with contact cleaner, doesn't feel intermittent or anything, so I think we're good.
  • Obviously, condenser not compresser
  • so it is working now?
Maybe the codec just needed a little defibrillation *G*
  • Yep, everything works
