I have pot trouble too. They aren't just off centre when the PCB is inserted. They are too high so I can't screw the PCB down flush without some serious flex. They are soldered down to the board as low as they can go but the wrongness of it is so mu…
I had this problem. Make sure you set RXF to "R" to receive clock/start/stop etc. Ultimately my problem was cold joints on the MIDI socket. I reflowed (heated up) the joints and it all came good.
Yeah, further musing leads me to believe a lasercut cuboid case is just too difficult to make angled and it's sturdiness wouldn't be sufficient. Cuboid it is.
I also think Ade's case is awesome. He's got a real talent and it's also nice to see him c…
Hmm, I don't think I like it. It looks great and solid as a truck but the big wide spaces and teh flange on the left and right make it bigger than it needs to be. I'll continue on making my own although I really do like the "angle" on it rather than…
Not interested in buying but how did you do the display window? Is it just laser cut the exact same size as the hole and if so, how is it held in place?
I was referring to the problem in this thread. I may not have described it correctly but I can't run anything earlier than v37 without getting a corrupted display on boot.
SUCCESS! I've resoldered (reflow?) the joints of the midi-jack from the top underside, the 220 ohm and the diode and its come good!
Also fixed my dodgy snare LED by doing the same thing. Win! Perfectly functioning LXR.
Done a bunch of testing tonight. Midi-out does indeed work perfectly.
I've printed out the schematics and tested continuity in all points between the Midi-in jack and the ARM Cortex header. Everything checks out fine. Doing voltage tests when power…
Oddly, one of the chaselight LED's has come good. I guess it was a dodgy joint or the 595 IC not seated properly. Had a go at my missing Snare LED. All continuity checks out up to the LED. So next step is extraction.
I was on the firmware linked in the assembly instructions. I've since upgraded to the latest one on github and the Midi and Trigger settings have appeared. I can now get clock over USB but still nothing over the Midi socket.
Thanks Julian. I've reconsidered in light of the new case being green so I'll be sticking with green/red to maintain the watermelon illusion. My kit didn't have any 220 Ohm networks in it so I'll pop along to our local leccy store and pick some up …
Hmm, this kit plays hard to get. Here kitty kitty!
Can't be bothered waiting for the metal case. I'll get the plastic one or cut my own. Kits back in stock soon?
