just skipped through. (will read the whole thing later)
your draft has really evolved.
i think the drum synthesis tutorial (chapter 9) will really help beginners to get startet
and i like the "did you know" thingies a lot.
great work!
@fcd:
personally i don't want the LXR to be a "eierlegende wollmichsau" (en: something that "does it all") and use it to sequence my whole setup or something.
BUT as it is gonna be my main drum device anyways, it would be cool to be able to sequence…
+1 here.
i originally fantasized about having additional extra that are only for midi out, but thinking about that this would end up with bad usability because of the surface layout (1button per track)
so i guess adding midi to the existing tracks…
Thanks flip.
Unfortunately i lended the camera from a friend and he wants it back tonight
About the external sequencing: i am 100% with you about adding tracks for external gear. I would even vote for it if it means other features can't be added …
@ selhambre: no.
at the moment LXR midi code is still quite beta. it only sends note on, no note off.
i saw that juilian worked on that in v0.15 though. (i'll try it out soon.)
the evolver uses its own sequencerin the video, but LXR is the clock …
i also think decay / slope response could be optimised.
i used higher slope values than shiftr, too. but i also have to twiddle decay + slope a lot to get it right. (espacially when i want to to modulate or "sequencer-lock" one of them.)
thank you guys.
@dubtoms: i think the 303ish sound you mean is from the bassstation rack (that is not in the picture.) it is sequenced by the gorf (the little thing on top of the LXR)
@micmicman: my theory about the resistor values is that julian tried all kinds of leds and the ones that ended up looking best through translucent grey (and in general) needed other current limiting resistors.
@julian:
the problem seems to have gone with the new sd card.
if i have enough time over the weekend i'll try to reproduce it with the old one and test when it happens exactly.
@julian: it did not only happen during pattern load from sd card. not sure, what triggered it. it was hard to reproduce, but happened just every time i was starting to have fun jamming around.
could be it happened when i switched through the patter…
@micmicman: Thats great!
I had some possible bug in my unit that i was not really able to narrow down.
Running step lights in voice mode stopped and start/stop did not work and the unit seemed somehow stuck. When i discovered, that it would get st…
... and maybe having another one that also restarts all lfos.
or each track having its own restart button.
i guess it must be testet, how usefull this is, but i imagine it to be nice when playing with polyrythmic stuff (which i love) to be able t…
about the sync "problem":
maybe this is something (some of) the unused step buttons in performance mode could be used for...
like for having a button to restart all tracks2-7 on the next One on Track1.
@fcd72: i was a bit startled about the order in the instructions. (which i followed exactly except for the usb jack) because i am used to small componentes -> larger components order, too.
the order from the instructions was not a problem at all…
i build the unit without any problems while having a big hangover from yesterdays techno party.
... which proves how good the instructions really are
unfortunately i did not win another victory candy:
