No, you may not have the same problem. Pioneer run PCBs a couple of solder joints were too close to the USB so it was recommended to put some tape over them/under the USB to prevent shorts.

I think the v.24a that is in the latest firmware thread is different than the one in the beta testing samples thread.I just loaded the latter and everything is back to normal.
Update:
I deleted everything off the card, re-populated the card with sounds samples etc, and now it says all my kits are empty.
I guess the bootloader hang has something to do with it...
I couldn't find any continuity, so I just re-soldered the points you sent me...some of the soldering looked dodgy. After struggling to get the soldering iron in there (wow LED 29 is close!)
