i don't think the lxr never should shuffle to clock since it can be useful sometimes but it should definately be possible to disable shuffle on clock. i wish i knew how to code then i would implement it by myself..

regarding pattern length you could chain patterns to achieve 64 or more steps...not exactly what you're asking for but a quite nice workaround (at least for me) [-O<
