Now I've tried a different PSU and the noise is reduced.
The strange thing is the other PSU doesn't cause problems with other gear, it's just the LXR that doesn't like it.
I've disconnected the trigger board and the RF noise remains.
While the above suggestion of using an RF filter may treat the symptom there must be a deeper underlying design/component problem that's causing it.
You can always shell out the extra cash for a Recom or similar switching vReg and replace the 78xx. They run about $10 and are cool as a cucumber
