Are you by any chance using a Mac to load the samples onto the card? Could be related to the Finder putting invisible files on the card (named like .filename.wav). I always use a tool (Tinkertool) to clean the cards before feeding them to the synths…

It must be a problem with your units because my LXR has a really low noise floor. I found the audio quality of the LXR to be really good. (used in a pro studio setup)

Works great! Loaded some LM-2 samples and it works really nice! There are some small clicks at certain Coarse/fine tune settings but you can fiddle around them.
