Best way to sync a second LXR unit for tandem work (LIVE)

Hi guys,

Please chime in with experiences with running 2 LXR machines in sync in a live situation! 

I imagine it would work fine using one LXR as a drum synth, and another as sequencer for external hardware synths and samples. I've got one unit (with trigger expander) and looking to get a second one. 

Even without the awesome BASTL controller box, I reckon this would be a pretty killer setup for all my sequencing needs.

Did anyone try this?
What was the best connection between the two (MIDI/USB/trigs?)
Any known issues with this setup?

    No experience with two LXRs, but should be no problem with a standard MIDI Out to MIDI In connection.
