Understanding the voice architecture?

edited July 2013 in General
I've been trying to wrap my head around the voice architecture. The manual is great and it give me a good idea of how everything is connected, there's still parts I don't understand. Since I'm a guy who needs to see things to know how they work I've made a chart of the 4 different setups there is E.g. taking section 3.1 and trying to match it with the parameters under section 3.5.

Have it gotten it all right? Or is there something I've missed?

... maybe arrows that show audio flow should have another color or shape than the ones showing modulations?
  • Very nice!!

    Thanks!

In the manual under section 3.2 it looks like the noise goes through the filter, but the oscillator does not. Then I don't understand the MIX function under the OSC. It must be the mix of the filtered noise and the oscillator? If so, then page 2 in my document is wrong

Edit - Made some changes to the PDF in the first post. Modulation is dashed and the snare is redone.
  • Can i have a T-shirt with that?
  • Vote for T-shirt !

  • yeah! those are really great!
  • I really like these!
Could you make a version with white background, too?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Just a small spelling error:

Under MOD, desitnation should be destination.

    :-)

    Thanks btw.

    Here's a white version - http://thehumancomparator.net/tmp/lxr-voices-white.pdf
And the spelling error has been fixed! Thanks for noticing :)
  • Wow! Thanks!
Just noticed: Below Osc2 in the Clap and Hihat Page it should probably be "G2" instead of "F2"?
    Greetings!!

  • Nicely spotted! Updated.
  • Naww. You'll be stuck updating this for life. For life I tells you!
  • welcome to my world ;)
  • Not trying to be annoying, but in the HiHat page there is still F2 instead of G2 below OSC2, and i could totally live with that, so it is just FYI. Thanks for your great grapics btw...
  • @zthee may I use those graphics on my site? They are great and I have to update the info page for the LXR ;)
  • more proofreading -- on all pages, "SP" for Sample Rate should be "SR"
Thanks for doing this; it's great :)
  • @Julian Of course you can!

    @Controlvoltage Thanks! Fixed it.
