Alternate screen for LXR

Are there any good options for display screens besides the OLED? Even if it means adding a few resistors. Anyone had any success with others?

you will need a special case, a standard display wont work with a normal case

there are flat LCDs as well.
for example these from kamami are 9.8mm thick.

the extra parts that are needed for an LCD (contrast trimmer etc...) already have a space on the normal LXR PCB. Just make sure the LCD is not higher than 10mm,  because that's the space between PCB and enclosure.
