Linux USB midi issue

The LXR shows up as a midi device without any problems.
I press play on the LXR and it goes through all the steps, but it locks up as soon as it has to play a note.
When i use amidi to dump all the raw midi data from the LXR port, everything seems to work fine.
So it appears that the LXR is waiting for some reply from the other end that doesn't get sent if the alsa port isn't beeing used.
I have no idea if this is an LXR issue, or something to do with alsa/linux. I'll do some digging about and see if I can find what's going on exactly.

Using arch linux with kernel 3.9.9-1-ARCH and alsa 1.0.27.2

    added to the buglist.
I have a feeling this has to do with the USB freeze when disconnect problem already on the buglist.
I use a 3rd part USB lib which seems to have its problems :P
