Polyrhythms—Active Step and Sequencer

edited March 2016 in General
Hello people,

Just got my LXR and been messing around with it for a while. Everything seems to work great except that I cant figure out (if possible) HOW to turn of a step completely. I have tried to read the manual and figure it out and I know that you can shift click a step and then edit the properties of it such as its probability or Velocity, but that only "mutes" the step. I want to make the sequencer run less than 16 steps. Would it be possible to program a kick to go 4/16 and then have another sound play 5/9 etc. So basically make the sequencer run only 9, 11 or any number shorter than the usual 16. Similar to the active step function on a volca beats/bass etc

Would be very grateful for info regarding this and how to create intricate patterns

cheers

EDIT: found the solution by holding shift and then pressing patgen.

dont know how to delete thread though

  • You can also set the total length in steps per voice. In VOICE mode press the MIX button and then set the "len" parameter to whatever you want the part to be long.
  • There is currently no 'active step' function the way there is on the volcas/monotribe etc. However, I just had some discussion about doing something like this. It would not be a difficult addition to the sequencer, the question is just where to put it in the interface (and also, for my FW, the priority being on fixin some bugs first).
