use external sequencer to trigger LXR

edited March 2016 in General
As I like Numeroloy very much I wanted to try to trigger the LXR voices from there.

In the LXR manual is the record incoming Midi info, that describes Midi Notes 36 to 42 for the seven voices.
and entered the corresponding Notes into my Numerology DrumSeq Setup.

I did not manage to trigger anything else but one sound, mostly the base drum in several tunes...

Has anyone else successfully triggered the LXR from an external source / sequencer?
What did the trick?

  • I had to go into the 'mix' menu and change the 'note' option from 'any' to the desired note value one by one.  The sort of annoying thing about this is that this setting seems to be saved with the drum kit so loading a new drum kit means inputting these values again.

  • Thank you for pointing me to the mix page. I overlooked that.
All I had to do was to assign a separate midi channel to each of the seven voices within the mix page and leave the notes on any.
I am not sure if this solves it completely but for the moment it is ok.
I changed the kit and the setting remained. So I do not have to program it for every kit.

  • I've found a bug with this. Triggering the LXR with my Midibox. If I send C-2 from the MB it equates to C-4 on the LXR. The notes on the LXR are all 2 octaves higher to anything else. I tested this by triggering the LXR from my piano and adjusting notes until I found one that worked. A bit more testing proved it true with all instruments and kits.

So C-3 on external kit = C-5 on LXR.

    I'll test Brendan's firmware next.
