CAD File for Custom Enclosure?

My wife has access to a laser cutter at work, and I need an enclosure for my newly built LXR. Does anyone have a file they've used for cutting an enclosure? I have no experience with this type of design so can't do it myself, but really want a metal case and not acrylic.

I could probably offer to have one cut for anyone who helps out if I can convince my wife. I live in Portland, OR, USA so you'd have to cover shipping.

    unless this is a massive machine, you wont be able to cut metal thats of any useful thickness (usually ~1mm for standard CO2 machines).  The files for the case are in the wiki

    Thanks. I knew I saw them somewhere. She works for an architecture firm so it's a serious machine, but I'll have to research.

    It's not something an architecture firm would have, its something you would find in a factory. To cut a 1mm thick piece of aluminum, you need a 1000 watt C02 laser.  You're probably better off with non-ferrous materials.

    You were right. She was confused when I was asking her what they have. Looks like I'll be going acrylic or waiting for the next metal case run.

    Acrylics fine. You can get the file for the LXR plastic case off the website and get it cut. Unless you're gigging around it's perfectly good.
