[solved] Help! LXR completely died!

edited December 2015 in Troubleshooting
I left my lxr on overnight, and when I saw it the next day all of the leds were on and the unit was un responsive. Now after taking it home to trouble shoot it is totally unresponsive, no led no screen nothing.

I check all the voltages, 5v to gnd and 3.3v to gnd, everywhere indicated, all good with powersupply (9v, center pin pos)

I made sure that was no continuity between 5v and gnd or 3.3v to gnd.

I checked a bunch of the avr to ic's for continuity (all good):
  • pin 11 of each 595 IC should be connected to pin 19 of the AVR
  • pin 12 of each 595 IC should be connected to pin 18 of the AVR
  • pin 14 of U3 should be connected to pin 20 of the AVR (DOUT_DATA)
  • pin 9 of U3 is connected to pin 14 of U7
  • pin 9 of U7 is connected to pin 14 of U9
  • pin 9 of U9 is connected to pin 14 of U13
  • pin 9 of U13 is connected to pin 14 of U11

How do I test if the main board is fried?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

  • sounds more like an AVR problem.
    AVR -> control surface
    Mainboard -> audio and sequencer

    to check the mainboard, connect via USB to a computer. if it is recognized the mainboard is working.

    is the bootloader doing anything?

  • did bootloader update sequence and WHEH!!! back to normal. should have tried that first.

    she's alive again. I'm an idiot.
