(SOLVED) Display showing weird symbols after powering on

edited December 2015 in Troubleshooting
Hello everyone,

first of all I want to say thanks for this great piece of gear, which manages to tap into my creativity like no other instrument I was ever using: Just start playing around and suddenly three hours of time fly away making some awesome (well, at least to me ;) ) beats and noises.

My LXR is working perfectly aside from a small detail, and since I just ordered the metal enclosure and have to open up the machine again in a few days, I would like to adress it now, so any possible fixing can be done in one go.

Whenever I power up the LXR, my display is showing strange symbols until I unplug and replug the power supply, after which it boots up normally. This usually works after the first try, but sometimes I have to replug a second or a third time until it starts working.

At first I suspected my power supply was responsible, so I switched from a 9 V 1500 mA universal power adapter to a 7.5 V 1000 mA fixed unit, but that unfortunately did not solve the issue.

When successfully booted up, my unit runs perfectly stable, so I can definitly live and be happy with it. I just want to make sure it does not get worse in the long run.

Thank you for your help and please excuse the ugly screenshot - I had to take it from a video of mine.

  • I think you may have a look here, before you try anything more drastic:

  • Thank you! I actually hoped this was just a software issue.

I will report back after I did the update.

It sems like flashing the new firmware did the trick.

I tried rebooting multiple times now and although the symbols sometimes still appear on the display for a split second, they don't stay on screen and the unit starts up normally.

Again, a big Thank You for your help nightworxx. For now this issue is solved and marked as such. :)
