Issue with MIDI / Output jacks

edited November 2015 in Troubleshooting
Hey guys,

I own my lxr for a few months now, built by a friend of mine, not by myself.

After months of amazing drum programming and fun late nights my LXR is now not responding to midi messages.

under the midi settings everything is set to 'all' or 'R'.

Nothing comes through  as the lxr is not triggered at all (play/stop)

i have noticed that once i apply a bit of pressure on the box it does recognise it for as long as i keep it pushed, but after opening the box (i did nothing inside, basically just screwed it together harder) it does not react to even the pressure thing.

what can be the cause ? and what can i do to solve it ?

thanks a lot for any help :)

[EDIT]  !!! !!! !!!

When the output jacks are plugged in, there is no midi messages being received, when i plug the cables out, the lxr does get midi... pretty strange right ?

I have tried with several different cables and the problem stays the same. also tried re installing the firmware but no luck there too...

  • Hi!
This sounds like bad solder junctions around the midi-jackets.
You should ask your friend for resoldering theses junctions and check their conductivity.
I would guess it is an easy fix.
