i know you have probably more important things to do right now and i don't want to bug you about this, julian.
but there is something i am wondering about since i got the LXR and i thought maybe we'll discuss it here.
there are still 9 unused seq buttons in the performance mode which should have nice functions i think!
if you have already plans for those, i am willing to take pot luck.
but if you are not sure yet, i have some thoughts to pitch to you:
i would really like the performance mode to have some glitch / delay like fx somewhat like the glitch vst plugin by illformed or "tim exile style" looping/granular stuff. ideally not to "destructive" in all settings to fit a lot of genres.
i don't think there is a lot of processing power left to do cpu/memory hungry fx, but maybe there are some ways to get in that direction anyways.
#1 what about having some buttons used for switching the normal "roll" function of buttons 1-7 in a mode where each time the roll triggers the voice a parameter value gets increased (or decreased) by a certain amount. (for example samplerate, pitch, filter - whatever sounds best)
#2 i have no idea how big the internal audio buffer before dac is (or if there is something like this in the machine) but i have the vague idea that it might be possible to get in the direction of "cd skipping sound" / dirty granular stuff without using extra memory.
#3 maybe manipulating the envs could be used to get in the direction of inverted drums. (maybe working together with the rolls like idea #1)
of course all this has to be tested and might turn out to sound shitty. but i imagine this kind of approach to be implemented in a way that doesn't need much recources or need the synth engine to be reworked completely.
i am eager to hear all of your opinions on this topic.
cheers Paul

stuff like while a button is pressed, only repeat the first x steps of a pattern.
But I like the glitch idea! the current buffer with 32 samples is a bit short though.
But I'm probably not gonna work on this until the other bugs i know of are fixed.
It does some great glitch rolls and it is open source. :-S
the scaling of the retriggerfunction in performance mode should be configurable. if youre playing live a 4/4 beat and want to do a kickroll with timed incremental retriggerrate, you probably dont need the 1/6 /12 /24 scale either.
the idea: two buttons which, when keeping pressed while changing the triggerrate, skip the "unwanted rates". eg: one button for the normal 4/4 raster, one for the 3/4 (or 6/8) raster. no change at all if no button is pressed. ;-)
