Which additional midi controller do you use?

I just ordered my LXR via eBay and after reading the manual and anything I wonder which additional controller would fit me good? Actually I'd love to have 1 Volumefaders plus 2 Buttons per "channel" (mute / solo). I found pretty much 8+ channels, most of them usb only...

I'm about to look up the Novation Zero SL MKII. Does anybody have any experience in midi configuration with this device? do you have any hints or tricks?

maybe you also have some other suggestions... shouldnt be more than 100€ used, but I'm willing to stretch that a bit if there is some "killer" piece out there.

if i move a dial/fader on an external controller (assuming its hooked up properly) should i see the parameter change on the screen ?

those sl mk2 controllers look good but i have too many controllers already.
