Penrose: buttons don't light up

Hi,
i just finished my Penrose build. Everything seems to work. Just 4 buttons don't light up.

This is the first diy-kit i did.

I resoldered already the buttons. Nothing has changed.

Any ideas on what and how to fix this issue?

  • Does it work at all? Are your ICs inserted in the right direction?
  • which buttons are affected?
they are wired up in groups of 4.
so if i know which buttons I can pürobably tell you where to look ;)
  • Yes it works. Just 4 of the 12 buttons don't work.

I triple checked the sockets before soldering, same goes for the ICs.

    It's not yet calibrated.
  • @ julian: top down: on the left side it's the 1st, 3rd and 4th. On the right side it's the 2nd
  • can you check R11.
the 10 ohm resistor next to the 2nd button on the right side...
all 4 non working LEDs are connected to this resistor.

check the soldering and if you used the right value.
  • Almost gave up on this one. Ordered 10 ohm resistors. Same  colour code but muuuch bigger.
So finally replaced R11 with the bigger one and all buttons light up. (y)
    Thanks for the help Julian
