Another wish list.

I've been playing with the LXR for a couple of weeks now. Which means I've had some time to think about my personal wishlist!

- select pattern in voice mode, really missing this one!

- Sharing triggers. Option to route triggers from one voice to another. This way it would be possible to stack voices to create über kicks etc.

- Solo voice in performance mode. it's missing...

- LFO rate -> extra divisions like 1 1/2, 3, 6 and 8

- Change letter input when saving -> first letters and numbers and followed by all the symbols no one uses.

- there is a pattern length parameter in the mixer section, it would be handy to also have a reset parameter.
For instance when you have a track set to 14 steps and reset at 32 steps it plays 2x14 + 4 steps and then resets to the first step of the sequence.

- faster/better envelopes with more control in the short range. the maximum time of the envelope is really
long. Good for general synth sounds (strings, pads etc.), less for
drums. if the total time would be 30-50% of the current length it would
mean there is more control over the first milliseconds of an envelope.

- Correct names for the transient parameters in "click".

What do you guys think?

Cheers,
C

i agree with most of what you're saying, but mostly with the envelope and LFO divisions.  i find a lot of the synthesis parameters generally speaking want to be more fine tuned to more usable ranges/curves/emphasis

how many parameters does your 'click' section have? I've just got WAV, vol, frq.  One wish is that the user samples could be in there too.
  • Are you using my firmware or stock .34? I messed around with the letter entry on mine, but I'm not married to it. Let me know which one you like better. On stock, I found the sensitivity of the character knob to be too fine to easily select letters and I always just went to the encoder for naming. I spread the characters on two knobs and fudged the offsets to put letters at the front to make it easier to get at an individual letter.

When I name my presets I tend to just mash the last two knobs while scrubbing the characters to get something pseudo-random anyway :) All the performance changes happen on the octatrack now so I never have to remember names.
  • I started out with the stock os, just to get a grip. But now that I am getting comfortable with this little beast I know 0.34 well enough to compare.
When I'm back from holidays I'll give it a try!

Agreed, I put this in my wishlist, is especially noticable on the envelopes slope and decay settings. I think this was added to the wiki wishlist.
