copying a step

Is there is a way to copy a step and its parameter automation settings to another step in a pattern?
To me, it seems logical to hold copy when a step is selected in step mode, and copy that step to another location in the pattern.

also, is there a master or gang volume?

    I'd like to add step copy some time... It would definitely cut down on some tedium.
    There is not a master volume parameter.
