Can you override pattern chaining?

edited April 2015 in General
Hi,

First of all, thanks for adding me to the forum, and I want to say thanks to all involved for creating such a wonderfully deep and flexible platform. I especially like the sub-step mechanism and independent pattern lengths.

I've a couple of questions about pattern switching and pattern chaining while the sequencer is running:

Once I've set up some patterns with a Repeat and Next parameters, is there a simple way of optionally overriding these and just have one pattern play indefinitely while I edit it?  Switching to Voice Edit mode with Follow off kind of does this, but although I can see my changes, I won't hear them until the sequencer actually plays the pattern I'm working on.

Also, can I confirm that if in I'm Voice Edit mode and I want to change the pattern I'm editing I need to switch to Performance mode, select the new pattern, then switch back to edit mode. Is this the only way?  It seems a bit long-winded and I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Thanks

BN

  • Regarding your second question, would love to have a function for that.
Something like a next / previous pattern button To skip through the patterns in voice mode.
  • Would be awesome if we could do that with shift and the rotary encoder!! Although I have no idea whatsoever if that is possible...
