Some help with my LXR

edited March 2015 in Troubleshooting
I bought an LXR and sometimes on startup all the LED's will be lit. Sometimes most all will be lit, then I'll turn it off and on again and it will boot as normal. I tried re-installing the firmware and the problem persists.

One note - I used a very tiny dab of glue on the buttons as none of them were on tight. One button stopped working after this (step 16). The rest seem to work fine. Could this have caused the issue with the booting, or most likely a separate issue?

I would tend to think if it was something I did it wouldn't boot right at all, but it boots fine about 50% of the time with no issues and works as expected.

Thanks in advance!
Heath

  • From my point of view this is a separate issue. On start up, when the LXR boot not correctly, can you use it or not? The only time i had a strange behavior from my LXR it was cause i move a bit the LXR and the power supply moved a bit too. Perhaps check if your power supply is good or move easily.
  • For the archive: this is a power issue when using a wall wart that that cannot supply enough current.  When all LEDs are on (which can happen on bootup) the device draws ~420 mA with the stock LEDs, if the supply cannot provide that much, the voltage will droop and the device will hang.  Solution: use a supply rated > 500 mA (1 amp better)
