Sub step displacement bug

I was playing with the LXR today and think that I encountered a bug. At some point I had the feeling that everything was slightly off time, and when I went back to add some steps on the sequence, I noticed that all my hi hats were on the second substep instead of being on first like they were supposed to. I'm not sure what caused the displacement, but just before I realized the timing displacement, I was playing with the shuffle (and went into extreme settings and back to 0 quite fast) on a sequence where tracks weren't the same number of steps. I'm not sure that this is what caused the displacement though, but I'll try to reproduce it to be sure.

Anybody had a similar bug show up?

ok that's weird... so it displaced every open and closed hats track to the second substep by default for this pattern set only. It also displaced the cymbal default substep to the second one, but only on pattern 8 of my pattern set. I loaded another pattern set and everything is fine, so the bug is tied to this particular pattern set. I tried to play with the shuffle but couldn't reproduce the bug. I'm guessing that it might have to do with the pattern save / load operation. For example, it might have been an error on the loading stage, but I didn't hear it on the spot, then I may have saved the pattern set like that afterward. I might be way off too...

I did find out another bug though... It seems that if I create a sequence where all (or near all) the steps are on on one track, in voice mode, when I hold shift to insert substeps, the substeps won't actually light up correctly. I hold shift and then switch from one step to another, but the substeps will often not light up or just some of the "on" substeps will light up. This one I can reproduce.

    For reference, I use a 9v, 3Amp power supply.

Could a kind soul try this and confirm to me that I'm not the only one with that problem please? Thanks!
  • I can confirm this sub step led bug. I observed this already a long time ago, so I guess it never worked right. But it didn't bother me. The bug emerges only if you have more than 14 main steps active. Then only 7 or 6 sub step leds can light up simultaneously. So it seems that there can't light up more than 22 step leds (main+sub) together.
  • Thank you for confirming this. Yes, I noticed it only appears with more than 14 main steps on, but then the number of substeps which light up tends to be 0 or 1 most often than not, even though I know I have more active substeps. But yeah, glad to know it's not my unit!

It depends, wether you are in voice mode or in step mode. In step mode you have to "update" the sub step leds by pressing the shift button once. Yes, definitively buggy.
  • Oh I see, thanks for the specifics.
