Sequencing external gear with midi out

The manual states: "The LXR is already capable of sequencing external gear. The manual has to be written, yet. TOODO: write MIDI out sequencing guide".

Any help on that? 

Ideally I would like to get a XOXBOX to be tempo synced and at least respond to play/stop, but still use the xoxbox step sequencer and controls. I guess you guys don't have to tutor me on the XOXBOX (but if you know it's great), but I don't know what to do on the lxr (neither, for now). My LXR was on shelf for a while, lack of time to get to it. I'm at firmware .32. Should I update to do these kind of things?

    if you just want to sync the xoxbox you should connect the LXR midi out to the xoxbox midi in.
    make sure that on the LXR in the global settings menu the rx midi filter is set to 'all'
    set the xoxbox to "midi sync"
    that should be all.
