One button (maybe two) not working...

edited December 2014 in Troubleshooting
Hey guys, so I'm nearly finished with my build. Everything else seems to work but a couple of buttons are giving me trouble(behaving kind of erratically). I made a short video to illustrate the problem. I have de-soldered them and resoldered them again. I even went as far as to buy a few new buttons from mouser in case they were defective. The connections seem fine. Would anyone be kind enough to chime in?

I'm not Julian or any expert, but it could be that one of the ICs (those that look like these little animals with thousends of legs) isn't soldered correctly or you forgot to solder a pin, I had that too in another way... just a possibility. As far as I know this certain (dunno exactly which) IC controlls the LEDs.

The function of the switches and LEDs is directly connected to the resistor networks around these. Check for weak soldering there, before you start any kind of replacing part by suspicions. Check all networks properly for too less solder or dull solder blobs, which are mostly weak/cold...
  • Hey guys. Thanks for your responses, I'm very grateful. I'm going to check and get back later this evening. Thanks again!
  • Quicker than I expected. As mixrasta suggested, I missed like one or two pins on the IC on the lower left. All buttons are functioning now! Now onto the Trigger IO kit....

    Thank you!
