The LXR is one of the projects that has seen the highest density of updates and added features than any other DIY project, it being 0.34 is just a number.
Are you unsatisfied with the current firmware or are you just in the mood of complaining?
Hi, no I am not in a bad mood and I have also a LXR Drumsynth. I like it a much but was wondering about the numbering. It suggest that to 1.0 al lot new thinks will come (single pattern copy, different sequencer play modi, new kits,... I know that the other way round from my Spectralis, it has version 1.5 but still some functions not Implemented and useful thinks like the recording of knob movements are nor on board.
If the LXR is nearly ready why Julian do not say version 0.95 or 1.0. That makes it clearer also for new buyer. Hope you understand my comment better.
Yes you have a point there. I guess Julian is just adding +1 each time he publishes an update, but yeah it might make sense to "bind" certain numbers to certain milestones in the firmware development.
Keep in mind that the development of the Spectralis firmware is a completely different issue, nothing to do with the LXR, which is also heavily developed by the community. In my opinion things are moving forwad quite nicely, despite lately having seen a bit of a slowdown, but it's also been summertime.
papernoise is right. I just increment the version number with each update. there is no milestone system at the moment
There will be another update soon. I took a little time off during summer from the LXR development. After developing it for about 2 years non stop it is sometimes good to get a little distance to get back at it with more motivation. so I was working on a few other projects over the last months.
