MIDI recording and LFO morph

  • Just some quick bugs i found:

I noticed that sometimes when i record incoming midi note messages it places two different substeps instead of one. it only happens with quantization >16. Also, midi-notes that differ from the supported ones will light up the other LEDs. (But i consider that one a feature . blinkenlights ftw!)

sometimes the clear page is not displayed correctly. some letters are missing.

There is a problem with the lfo when i morph a sound. I don't really know what happens, but when i have a morph value of 255 the lfo still doesn't change parameters. That's a stupid explanation, i know :-)
  • Two more things:

It would be nice if recorded steps would be displayed immediately. right now, you have to press the voice edit button again.

Also, when i turn the machine on, i can't directly play (using the oneshot setting) the drums in performance mode. I have to change the roll value and then set it back to oneshot.
  • I split this from the main thread because the feedback thread gets quite chaotic with all the bugreports mixed ;)

I have not used the MIDI recording mode that much yet ;)
    I will look into it.

regarding the LFO - at the moment the LFO (and I think the velocity) target is not affected by the morph.
I don't know what would be the best way to do this. It's a problem with all the switchable parameters (waveforms for example). But for waveforms it's not too bad to just step trough all waveforms.

To get a real smooth morph one would need 2 LFOs so one could fade from one target to the other.
Otherwise the morph would step trough all parameters between the source and the destination, and I doubt this would give very pleasing effects ;)

This one is already on the known bugs list, point 4
"missing LED update when midi notes are recorded to the active sequencer track"

ah yes, I noticed this but forgot to add it to the bug list.
    added and will be fixed.
  • You're probably right about morphing the lfo. But couldn't we ignore the lfo until a morph value of 255 is reached and then just use the right settings?
  • Ahh, didn't see it in the bug list. my bad.
  • okay. I can confirm the double recording.
don't know what it is yet :p

but LEDs light up now when MIDI notes are recorded.
I will release the v0.19 with LOTS of fixes tonight.
