Analog clock in to MIDI out

edited August 2014 in General
Please excuse me if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything on the forums...
I'm currently using the LXR with an analog clock source with the trigger extension board. This works really well, the LXR has become the central brain of all my triggering/syncing and drumming needs.
The only thing that doesn't work is the MIDI clock out. I guess this might have something to do with the MIDI clock having a much higher ppqn rate (24 in contrast with modular sync usually only having 4), but maybe I'm just missing something obvious, which could solve my problem...

  • Did you ever find a solution? i would love to drive a midi rig off an analog clock source.
  • No unfortunately I haven't looks like this is not possible
and sorry for taking like 5 months to reply to this, I hadn't noticed this comment... :)

  • Hm, if somebody codes 24 PPQ, you possibly could achieve a solid modular clocking with a 4ms RCM.
  • It should be possible to implement a so called PLL algorythm inside the LXR code, that takes the modular clock and multiplies it (with a bit of guesswork) taking it to 24 PPQ and then sends that out via MIDI.
  • Just chiming in to say I would absolutely LOVE such a feature! Pretty sure I'm not alone...
