Just a post and very much a well deserved blatant sales plug to recommend Andre at Tube Ohm to build your LXR. He's on the trusted builders list above and did a fantastic job with my unit and supplied loads of emails and pictures as he built it and tested the unit... the unit looks wonderful, is working perfectly and sounds great. From initial contact to arriving at my door it all took less than two weeks.

This thing sounds amazing, can't stop playing the various soundcloud samples.
Quick summary of why I chose the LXR:
Rare, it will give a more original sound with FM as well as analog modelling.
Supporting two small innovative companies.
More to come with firmware updates and custom firmware. (Was a coder for years, open source is such a great decision. Am used to all gear and software being buggy, but having a community joining in rather than a proprietary blob relying on a corporation has got to be sensible.
Can load small samples with twice the space of the legendary SP1200.
4 mono outputs so can process more on the computer.
4 different instrument engines.
a whole bunch of different modulation sources.
preset morphing.
USB class compliant so no special drivers so can use Linux.
I will be using it live as well as in the studio. My club is popular with lots of South London producers, can't wait to see the look on their faces, I bet they will want one rather than chasing down 3 grand, one sound rare Rolands.
Peace. SimonD
