Options in Step mode are changing by themselves (solved)

Hello all!

My wise audio technician, my mistake corrector managed to find a short- before that all the parameters on the display were changing by themselves and the steps were switching on -on their own. Now that is all fine except the step mode. The parameters are still jumping in there. Could you maybe point to the direction where we should look for more shorts or other mistakes?

    not sure if I understand you correct.
    you only have jumping parameters if you edit step parameters like note, volume probability?
    or do you mean something else?

    Sorry, I have not described the situation properly- In step mode (when the "step" button is pressed) the display acts as if the Encoder was turned. It jumps between the options presented.

    The other thing is that when I work on voices 2-7 it jumps back to voice one. And it does not always respond to voice 1 button- it does not select the voice one when I press drum1.

    And the third error is that sometimes when I switch on the machine it shows me an error of weird characters. After restart its gone.

    I tested the machine as much as it was possible - it is fantastic. Everything morphs together nicely and the sound is amazing :)

    hmmm this sounds like you still have a short somewhere at voice button 1 or its shift register.
    or maybe a cold solder joint.

    and the voice button.


    regarding the "step" button.
    you mean the 2nd of the 4 mode buttons?
    normally the menu has nothing to do with the encoders/knobs.
    they should either work everywhere or nowhere.
    does this only happen while you hold down the button or the whole time step mode is active?
    maybe the LED for the step mode has a short to the encoder or knob line?

    There was kind of a short on the 10k network. And the encoder was resoldered.
