Pattern step data forced to steps 1, 5, 9, 13 after save???

edited June 2014 in Troubleshooting
Greetings from Osaka.

After a very quick and successful build, I find myself stumped by a peculiar, reoccurring problem. Let's say that I program a pattern with events on the clap/cym track on steps 1,2,4,6,7,8,10,11,13,14 and 16, and I go through the step menu and edit the volume and tuning of the steps. When I'm cool with the pattern (or patterns, when I've put together more than one), I go to the save menu and name & save the kit as a new one (I most often tweak everything every time I turn the thing on) and then I do the same with the pattern. After the save window closes, the step data on the clap/cym track is changed to steps 1, 5, 9 and 13 only (these are the only LEDs lit for the track).

This has proved to be particularly annoying. I thought I might have missed something in the manual, but after re-reading it a few times... I still have no idea what is going on. Am I doing something wrong? Leaving out a step in the save process? Forgetting to change a default save setting somewhere? After doing some extensive pattern programming (and being very happy with the results), having the track forced to be active only on the downbeats has become a major headache.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

  • are you running the latest firmware version?
    sounds are saved correct?
  • Just noticed it was version 0.32... For some reason I thought it was the newest firmware. Oops...

Updated to 0.34, made and saved a test pattern, rebooted then loaded the pattern and...

    PERFECT!

    Thanks!
