CC for MORPH wanted!!! and CCs in general

have been dreaming for so long setting up CCs from the LXR in my sequencer and just wanted to write an instrument definition (Cirklon) in order to have all CC names listed of the LXR.

Then I noticed with Schrecken that there is no CC for MORPH!!!

damn! if one was able to store the morphkit within the performance kit, then it would be super fun to use a CC for morph for external sequencing!! would be fun now of course as well... but in terms of saving, morphkit does not get saved, yet (might be on the TBI list already?)


I had a look at the midi CC list:

CC 0 should be for Bank Select MSB (program change for drumkits)

CC 7 should really have been for drumkit volume (would be really quite important to get all the different drumkits  to the same volume in the best way)

CC 32 for  Bank Select LSB
 (Bank change..).  but it is what it is now, probably....


Question is: where is place for a MORPH CC (would be better than NRPN because mostly easier to set up CCs rather than NRPNs)?


(I wouldn't mind wiping some really uninteresting CCs or shooting these into the NRPN domain, even making a clearup for getting proper program/bank change, as well as drumkit mastervolume via CC 07)

one could make a poll, if someone would mind?

does CC1 - Modulation wheel have influence on something  already?

if there was some kind of midi matrix, one could route the modulation wheel to several instruments at once, influencing different parameter! (sorry me, if this works already:-D) kind of also a morph function

    I must have a closer look at the current midi table. In general the CCs are quite full (that's the reason for all those NRPNs) but maybe there is still one free inbetween.

    a propper bank/program change implementation is on the todo list.

    good idea with the peformance kit saving the morph kit. this one should be easy ;)

    will be lots of fun modulating controlled morph (when a suitable morphkit gets stored to the drumkit)

    looking for the CC number of voice 5 Mod menu - "amt"   is this one missing?

    A sort of addendum to this request: Would it be possible to have all parameters accessible as NRPN?

    Built my unit (with the help of paul dinsync.info) a week ago and love it! That bassdrum deserves to be heralded as a modern classic.

    agreed! a MIDI CC for morph seems an odd omission since the global decimation is on there. IMO this would be a fine thing to put on the mod wheel (CC1).

    Hi!
    I added this to my firmware a while back, if you want to try it. The MIDI CC assignments are very different on my fork - they use the instrument channels instead of the global channel, and there are no more NRPN's. Morph amount is assigned to the Mod wheel (CC1) of the global channel. Most of the changes I've made don't mess with the normal operation of the LXR, so things besides the MIDI assigns should, in general, work as you would expect. Also, I need to fold in the .35 and .36 changes.
