endless firmware update...

edited May 2014 in General
Well, this has been one to test my patience a little... A firmware update that lasted well over 36 hours.
Eventually powered it down and saw that 0.33 had flashed, but have been unable to get LXR running correctly.

Anyone else had this issue?

  • Nope! did you try to reupload the firmwire?

  • trying it again now, but it's slower than i remember it for 0.31...
what should be expecting for completion of 2/2?
  • It never took more than 5 minutes with me

  • this probably means the AVR got updated, but not the mainboard.
slow moving LEDs mean it is waiting for the mainboard to respond.
fast moving LEDs indicate that the maimboard is actually being programmed.
Update should not take longer than a minute.

what do you mean by running correctly?
    can you start the sequencer?
if not there is something wrong with the communication to the mainboard.
was everythign working before the update?
  • Hi Julian
yeah - slow moving LEDs & no i cannot start the sequencer...

    It was working before
  • Is there an easy fix, or is it time to disassemble?
  • this sounds like a problem with the mainboard.
it is not answering the AVR when it tries to update it.
A non working sequencer also indicates a 'silent' mainboard.
is it plugged right into its socket?

So i opened LXR up:  mainboard was on firmly, i prised it off gently & re-slotted it on, but still the same problem on reloading the firmware.

    time for a new mainboard?

  • is usb recognized on the computer?
  • New main board fixed it, thanks for helping to identify the problem :)
