  • Alas, such a nifty piece of software does not exist..... (yet?). There is a standalone editor though, search for ugly duckling on the forum.
  • If I had more time :-/
the ugly duckling editor could be compiled as a vst with a few tweaks.
It is based on JUCE wich has a VST and AU output option.
I just never managed to really check it out (stumbled obver juce after my VST developer days)
  • ok thanks and does anyone know a good vst editor for shruti. i took a look on google and nothing is good enough for me or it s max for live device and i don t have max and don t wanna buy it

there is the vst editor from tubeohm.

here is the demo, don't know what the demo limitations are though

  • Demo limitations are sound cut outs every once in a while.

Them main problem with this VST in my opinion is it (seems to) want to have direct access/control of MIDI and audio. Works fine in standalone, but for instance I seem to remember that muting the VST track in a DAW did not actually mute the audio coming through the program.

Could have been something else though. YMMV.
  • do you have to route the aduio through it if you don't want to use its internal FX?
  • I haven't used it in a while, but (IIRC) the initial setup seems to imply this is the case. I have to assume that its possible to avoid routing the audio, but I didn't play around with it long enough to know.

Another issue with it is that it's still using NRPNs, whereas Shruthi as of v1.0 is fully CC (as I understand it, CC is faster due to fewer packets on the wire).
