Fixing the loose cap Problem

edited April 2014 in General
Husker recently recommended using blu tack to attach the button caps.
I tried it and it's really easy to attach and keeps the caps really tight in place.
Starting today all future kits will include a little piece of blu tack.
It's like sticky plasticine.

You just have to roll a sausage out of it

then cut it up in 39 little balls

and put them on the bottom of the caps

Waaaayyyy less fiddly than cutting up some tape! :D

  • so good thank you!
  • Wow, the caps were the one part of the kit that was really a PITA. If only I had waited a few more weeks haha.
  • Really great solution! This issue really made my LXR less fun to play, now not!  I used Loctite Fun Tak, a vile ripoff of Blue Tak but much less expensive :)
  • I claim naming rights!

    "huskerballs"

as in "Did you use huskerballs on your LXR? They are awesome!"

  • haha! huskerballs it is -> assembly instructions

Apparanetly I searched around a little bit and the blu tack was the cheapest tack I could find on the quick :-/
  • Yeah, on Amazon (in the States) Blue Tak was $10.00 and the Fun Tak was a little over two! In any case, it's a good solution and makes the LXR a lot of fun!
  • for me the 60g blu was 1.20€ and fun tak was like 6€ [-O<
either way cheap enough since you only need a small pice for the caps, so it costs me almost nothing to add :)
  • I had my 1st "Cap Pop" today so i am going to apply the huskerballs!

  • My (ex-) girlfriend recommended "Kneadable eraser" (in German Knetgummi) from Faber-Castell. Looks similar to Julians sausages and works great. Got it from a local store for just 1 or 2 Euros.
  • Best thing I have found so far is double sided clear tape
