Can you make the IO Trigger later? And if i'm correct, Midi In is already available in the standard kit, isn't it (or do you need the IO Trigger for this?
yes, the trigger IO is an add-on. It just attaches with a ribbon cable and can be installed at any time.
MIDI is available on the standard unit. The trigger IO is just for analogue IOs
Complete kit + enclosure + power adapter is correct. Maybe you want to add an SD card for the presets. Nothing fancy. even an old 129mb card would work here
Take your time and resist trying to do the whole thing at once, take a few days, a couple sections at a time. Don't skip the testing in between sections!! And double check everything is in right before inserting IC's and powering up.
Don't bother trying to get the black spacer on the display header down to the pcb. Just remove it as mentioned.
Ah ok! I've only made the motherboard of the Ambika, and that costed me way more time haha. So this is a small project
To be honest: i haven't read what the LXR is capable of. The project and the good instructions made me so enthusiastic, that i ordered it immediately. It sounds very full and clean to me. Is it comparable with another synth? And what is making the LXR so special (except the good price and great sound)?
I took some free hours from my job... and just got started with the LXR.. but then the 7805 regulator is missing So have to wait a few days to get started again.
you could also continue your build and do the voltage test later on. As long as there are no ICs inserted and no display/mainboard connected you don't risk frying anything.

Will this SD card work?

In the end I think I only know of 1 or 2 cases where somebody had a non working SD card.
you don't need anything fancy at all.
take the cheapest you can get.
something like this would be sufficient, too

It seems you will get it locally?
otherwise I could send you one free of charge.
