Feature Request: Morph as mod destination

Request: add the Morph parameter as a destination for automation and LFO - would need to add another non-voice target (G for global?)

For LFO would probably need both presets to have the same LFO setup to avoid chaos (how does morph handle LFO parameters on presets currently?)

Comments

  • Not possible due to the implementation at the moment.
Currently the AVR handles the morph and a lot of data is transferred while morphing.
I have to rework the morph mechanism in an upcoming update, so maybe after that it will be possible.
The main objective for now is to fix the occasional glitches while morphing.

The LFOs are not affected by the morph, and only the LFO setting from the source patch is used.
  • Ok cool, will stick with the knob twiddling 'LFO' for now - morph in the context of a drum machine is amazing. Has anyone done that before?

  • I think the microtonic VST does this as well ;)

The vst KICKDRUMDESIGNER from pointblank (m4l and free, amazing!)  ;)
  • Here's a crazy thought. Would it be possible to morph between two patterns as well? Maybe as a separate morph so the sound wouldn't be affected. I'm thinking that the probability would be interpolated between the two patterns' steps. ;)
  • The midibox seq does this.

On eproblem is that I an't hold 2 complete pattern sets in memory.
So it would only be possible between 2 patterns from the same set.
And one would need some kind of threshold value.

On the midibox seq each step can have a treshold. When the morph parameter is below this set threshold, pattern A is played, if it is above, pattern B is played. This allows you to define the transition between the 2 patterns.

I can not think of a really straight forward way to implement this UI wise. Only way I can think of would be to disable the probability and use it as a treshold parameter. But I think this swith would be rather confusing.
  • Yes, it seems a bit complicated so never mind. :)
  • before I had LXR all my drums were utonic....love that VST

utonic is probably the best electronic drum vst i ever know
but lxr is so much better ;)
