Feature suggestion : Lock parameter display

It would be great if, while holding down one of the step button in VOICE MODE, the lock parameter value of this step would be displayed. Actually, it only shows the current tweaking, or by default the global voice value.

  • You have to go to the step menu and click on a step to show the automations on the step of a track. Or maybe i dont unterstand what you mean
  • In fact, in voice mode, you have to hold down shift and press a step twice to see the parameters lock. IS this what you are talking about?

  • Thanks ! I never realized there was a second menu after pressing shift !
  • always look for the little arrow on the side of the display indicating 2nd pages
  • My request remains valid though :). It would be quite nice to have the parameter lock's value of the current step (the one you are holding down while on VOICE MODE) being displayed. Without additional shift and double pressing I mean.
  • Agreed when holding down the step I should see the exact values of that step. Just like the analog 4 does. Would be great!
  • The more I'm using and mastering the instrument, the more I feel this feature would improve greatly the management of the parameter locks. For now, they are extremely difficult to tweak in live mode (especially when you want to change them while playing two chained patterns : you don't know which step you are editing).

  • the problem with holding down the step is that this is currently one of the ways to assign a lock.
if I would change the display to show the steps there would be no sound parameter to tweak to assing a lock.
    but i#m open for suggestions

Hum... I'm not sure I understand the problem you spotted. Or maybe I'm using the wrong terms ?

Holding down the step is indeed the way to assign a lock, and that's why I think it should display the value of the locks you already assigned. Example follows :

    1) I'm holding down step 1 and assign a "coarse at 37"
    2) I'm holding down step 4 to assign an other lock
    1) I'm holding down step 1 again and it shows "coarse 37"

That way I know instantly what are the lock values I assigned. Of course you should be in the sub menu OSC to see those values in the case of the example. Is this making sense ?

  • Don't know if this will completely solve your problem, but there is a FLW parameter in the global settings that you can turn off to lock editing to the selected sequence, regardless of chaining.
  • @dtgn ah okay i get what you mean.
I thought the display should switch to the second page of the step menu where you can see both assigned lock parameters and can change them manually. your idea is good!

If I understand correctly you just want the actual sound parameter in the osc menu to change its value to the locked value while the step is pressed.

@julian Yes Julian, that's exactly what I meant ! It's an ergonomic suggestion which could, I think, improve the workflow !

PS : sorry for the late reply, I paused music for a while :)
