  • I'm jelly!
  • Amazing!! Looks great!
  • Looks super!

Have some laser engraving done, then infill with a light color (light grey or white) the letters, presto!
  • WHOW!!!  Great piece!

Ultimate! Do you have cinch inputs there?
  • Very impressive.
  • thanks!

@Varthdader - the LXR layout is so brilliantly intuitive + with led feedback + display I don't find the need to label anything, so I will probably leave it 'nude'. I would like a LXR logo on there though - think I might burn it into the wood with a magnifying glass and the sun!

@mixrasta - no, just some RCA/cinch to 1/4 inch adaptors

  • That's amazing! Great work.
  • husker: I agree the layout of the LXR is quite intuitive! If you ever burn the logo there with a magnifying glass that would be amazing and you better share a photo of it!

I have had this image of a CNC sun engraver that moves with the sun! I Imagine it would take some time to work but it would be really cool and earth friendly...
  • Yeah, and if you do it, take a video, that would be cool to watch. (And don't be tempted to burn any ants)
  • true story: after I read Varthdaders last post I visualised drawing the logo with honey, getting some ants to eat it, then burning the ants to make the logo... cool and creepy all at the same time

I decided I didn't want dead ants on my LXR

  • Haha way over what I imagined!

Maybe no ants on an LXR is better, but if you do burn the wood let us know! It looks so pristine I would have trembling hands being afraid to screw it up!
  • What is technically possible to do to burn the wood? Laser? I'm curious to see what the result could be.
  • I guess that with a nice, bright day you could burn with a magnifier. I would use some type of reflective stencil (aluminum foil could work, or some metalized vinyl foil) to keep the letters edges nice.

Another way is to have some laser etching, which you can just program with Coreldraw or something and have it it engraved at a shop.

Another solution is to engrave with a mechanical method (router) and then infill with paint.
  • Laser might do the trick…..

  • Actually for Carbon based materials you want to have in infrared Laser… Blue is just to show off ;-)
  • The photo is missing some smoke machines
  • Next funny thing is these Sunglasses won't protect his eyes. Real Laser Protection Glasses are Clear and work like a high Q Notch Filter tuned to the Lasers Wavelength….
  • Probably wouldn't look nearly as cool.
  • Oh and I would swap the camouflage for a white lab coat
  • No, the camouflage is necessary, as it helps in sneaking up on the ants.
  • Another Thread succesfully derailed….
