what power supply are you using? how many mA? is an SD inserted in the unit? the scrambled screen can happen when the LXR restarts without a full power down before (for example with a not powerfull enough PSU or a loose connection).
So I thought all was good... the screen every once in a while states that the sd card is not detected again. I was on os .23 so I tried to update 29 and the display say SD error. I have tried three SD cards.
was your sd card already working once or is it not working since you first build the unit?
could you check the soldering on the 4050 IC and the avr? also make sure those 2 chips are seated correctly in their socket.
are all the pins of the sd card socket on the mainboard soldered tight in place? you can push them a little bit (lightly) with a small screwdriver or something similar. they should not move.
sd error means the avr can not talk at all to the sd card. If it can talk to the sd card, but the card is not compatible for whatever reason, it should say "fs error" instead of "sd card error".
So i assume there is something wrong with the physical connection between the avr and the sd card.
