Compressor for LXR(i hope i'm spelling the name right)

Hi,

had another listen to the demo tracks, and it sounds so much punchier then mine, wonder if there's some processing involved? If yes, what would you guys recommend to get similar effect? I think some kind of hardware compressor, but what would allow me to compress four channels of sound without costing few times more then drum machine itself?

BTW, what's up with the name? I just can't remember the sequence of the letters for some reason, sounds very generic and meaningless(no offence), such a nice box has to be called little better in my opinion;) Does it have a meaning?
