Issue with step 16 : short between 5v and ground?

Hi!

I just receive my LXR! :)
And finished all the soldering.
But I've continuity between 5v and Grd.... I checked again and again and again and again every solders, polaraity, steps, but I can't find a short between both of it.
Is there any other way to have a continuity? Is there other classic mistake that I maybe did? So frustrating!!!

I made my test with the resistor mode of my multimeter (I don't know if it's good, but it's the only way the needle move when the pointers are in contact.
And I test the circuit once the adaptator wired. I have a good 5V.

Any idea? I so want heard it's fucking sound!!!! haha

  • how exactly did you measure for continuity?
I assume your multimeter does not have a mode that makes a beep if the 2 probes touch?

you can also just measure the resistance between GND and +5V
    I measure around 2kOhm.
If there is a short somewhere, you will probably measure something in the range of 0 to 100Ohm (depending on the size of the short ;) )
  • The shorter the lower…...
  • Arf I think that's it! I do actualy measure the resistance (because I indeed haven't a multimeter wich make a beeeeep) and I measure 2kOhm

    So all is fine?
  • yes! with ~2k all is good :)
  • OH YEAH!!!!!!!! thank you! I'll finish tonight and tell you what! Thank's a lot
  • pfiou! everything seem to be ok!!!!
So glad to start head it's sounds.

But the drum 1 only sound to the left side (even if change the pan). For the the other part it's ok.
    do you know why?
  • which output is it assigned to?
problem still there when you change kit?

  • That's it, just have to change kit! Everything is ok!

    Great sounds!

Thank a lot! You made a fucking good work with your lxr! I'm really happy to play with :)
  • congrats on the successful build! :)
