Self-cut enclosures - svg file available?

edited January 2014 in General

Hi,

I'm itching to pull the trigger on a kit, but I would like to cut my own enclosure/panel.

Is there an available SVG (or similar) file I could work from?

Thanks in advance,

:)

  • I would advise the case from shiftr. I used as a base for my design.

  • That looks the ticket. Thanks!
  • I used the top piece of shiftr's design, it worked great.
  • I think I will link the enclosure thread and the SVR file in the wiki :)
  • Thanks shiftr - not the first time you've come to my rescue :)

The dimensions are what I need - I'm looking at a rack design.....

I could also send you the DXF files exported from KiCad if that would help?
just the original enclosure design files from frank are somewhat out of proportion.
however Shiftrs SVG is tested by a few people here.

No need Julian - I was able to open shiftr's file in Inkscape and go from there.

    Cheers

    :)

  • Shiftr one is good! And one from here has distorted proportions. Unfortunately I've cut it first so please avoid it
    Comparision attached

  • I did the same mistake ;)
  • I'm sorry but where is the right file every one is sharing old links to old conversations. Iv tryed a few different things with no luck. I'm so confused there are to many different things going on. Please some one send me the right file. Jnaster@gmail.com I will be forever in your debt. I am playing moogfest and am using my lxr and would like to have a case. Thanks.
  • The link to the version I made is in the thread mentioned above.. But I suspect people did edit it for use with ponoko... Maybe people can share their version of my design
  • Hello,

i'm thinking of cutting the case myself and have a little question: i was sourcing the parts myself, and my encoder is little lower then pots, about 5 mm i guess, is it normal or i've got the wrong part and will have to modify the case so the encoder would fit together with cap on?

    Thanks!
  • The 3 mm plexi is on top of 10 mm standoffs..
So if you still have about 5 mm more than 13 mm from the board you are all right..
