Problem with potmeter noise/pot scanning (SOLVED)

edited November 2013 in Troubleshooting
Hi,

on my display the displayed parameter is changing quickly between two values. Not all the time and mostly at certain positions.(happens with all four soft knobs) While not pleasing to the eye, this is not an issue in itself, but when changing modes the parameters jump to undesired values, which results in changed sounds or muted audio
if eg the sample rate value for the kit is changed. It is also irritating when the kick drum you programmed an love changes all the time.

anybody else experiences this or has an idea what to check?   is this a hysteresis issue/potmeter noise or could this be a (pot)ential software issue?

thx in advance,

Mike

  • Id bet on ripple on your PSU; do you have a bigger/more stable PSU to try?
  • not yet,  but i'll buy a decent one on monday. The one i'm currently using is a bit "weak on the chest"

  • You might try with a bigger Cap at the Regulator.
  • definitely not normal.
I'd suggest to try another PSU, too!
  • Hi, i found now a Psu with 9 volt and 600mA and it solved the issue with the potmeter noise/ undesired change of parameters. :-). Those 100mA made all the difference and my LXR runs smooth now and it's joy to use. Will now focus on the creative side of things and upload some vids and patches once i know this baby in and out.

Thanks for all the help! Really outstanding support.

    Best regards from denmark.

    Electronically yours, Mike
